  1. DDEVICES 
  2.  Enter the name of a physical device driver loaded on this 
  3.  CD Server to be shared onto the network by CD Share.
  4.  For example you may have a line in your config.sys similar
  5.  to the following :
  6.  DEVICE = HITACHIA.SYS /D:CDROMS1  /N:3  
  7.  Name of device driver
  8.  Number of Drives
  9.   attached to
  10.   controller.
  11.  DEVICE = HITACHIA.SYS /D:CDROMS2 /N:2 
  12.  Name of another driver
  13.  The total for this server would be two device drivers with
  14.  a total of 3+2 = 5 drives. Only those drives controlled by
  15.  device drivers listed in the shared devices table  will be
  16.  be made available to the network.

  19.  This is a table of device  drivers on the server that are to
  20.  be shared onto the network. These device drivers are usually
  21.  loaded in the  config.sys  file on  the server, each  device
  22.  driver may be controlling a number of CDROM drives.
  23.  Press Enter  with an  entry  highlighted to alter it, Del to
  24.  remove it from the table, or Ins to add an extra entry.
  25.  Press Esc to return from the table to the previous menu.

  27. WORKSTN 
  28.  This is a table of default CDROM drives for the CD Workstation's
  29.  logical drives to be attached to.
  30.  Note that if more entries than MAXIMUM  REDIRECTED  DRIVES  are 
  31.  specified then only MAXIMUM REDIRECTED DRIVES will be attached. 
  32.  Logical drive connections may be altered in batch files or from 
  33.  the command line at later stages using CDManager.

  35. DRIVES  
  36.  On this form you list the details of  ONE of your  default redirected  
  37.  CDROM drives.
  38.  SERVER NAME
  39. :Name of CD Server with required CDROM.  
  40.  DEVICE NAME  (On SERVER NAME) :Name of DEVICE DRIVER to attach to on
  41.   CD Server
  42.  DRIVE NUMBER (On DEVICE NAME) :Drive number (0,1,2,etc) on DEVICE NAME 
  43.   to attach to.
  44.  For example if CDSERVER, CDROMS1, and 0 were entered then this logical 
  45.  drive would attach to drive 0 on the device driver CDROMS1 on CD-Server
  46.  named CDSERVER.

  49. MAIN HELP SCREEN
  50.  The CD-SHARE installation program allows you to set up a
  51.  computer as a CD Server(either dedicated or non-dedicated),
  52.  or as a CD Workstation only. A non-dedicated server MUST
  53.  also be set up as a CD workstation to access any local
  54.  CDROM device drivers that are shared onto the network via  
  55.  the CD Share server.
  56.  The installation program copies all of the CDSHARE to the  
  57.  specified installation directory, then creates a startup
  58.  batch file which will setup CD-Share on the PC according to
  59.  the server and workstation parameters entered. If the PC
  60.  is to be a CD Share workstation then a "device=CDWORK.SYS" 
  61.  line is also appended to the CONFIG.SYS file. The default  
  62.  name of the batch file is "STARTCD.BAT", this batch file
  63.  should be called after installation to start CD Share on
  64.  the PC.
  65.  If a CD Server is not dedicated and drives are specified in
  66.  the workstation drive list then the batch file will set up 
  67.  the node as a non-dedicated CD Server/Workstation.

  70.  Use the left and right arrow keys to  select installation for
  71.  either a Workstation or a server, then set  the name  of  the
  72.  installation  directory  and the  startup  batch file. If you
  73.  aren't running INSTALL from the same directory as the CDSHARE
  74.  files then you will also have to set the  source path to copy
  75.  CDSHARE files from. Once you have pressed Enter on the "COPY 
  76.  INSTALL FILES FROM" field you enter the  configuration  menu.
  77.  To get from the menu back to the GLOBAL settings press Esc.

  79.  Use the first two menu items to set  server and  workstation 
  80.  parameters then select 'Install' to perform the installation.
  81.  Select 'Quit' to exit back to DOS, or press Esc to alter the 
  82.  GLOBAL settings.

  85.      This screen allows you to set parameters for a CD Server.
  86.  SERVER NAME
  87. : Name of server used by workstations to attach
  88. to server CDROM devices. This name must be unique 
  89. for each CD Server and Workstation.
  90.  MAXIMUM USERS
  91. : Maximum simultaneous users logged into server
  92.  MAXIMUM TASKS
  93. : Maximum simultaneous network requests serviced
  94.  BUFFER SIZE
  95. : Size of network buffer (in 2K Sectors) per task.  
  96.  DEDICATE SERVER
  97. : YES runs the server in dedicated mode for maximum 
  98. performance Note: CACHE always used when dedicated
  99.  RUN CACHE
  100. : YES indicates that you wish to use CD-CACHE
  101.  CACHE TYPE
  102. : TYPE of memory to use for CACHE. DO NOT use EXT if
  103. : HIMEM.SYS or an expanded memory manager is loaded.
  104.  CACHE SIZE
  105. : Amount of memory in K bytes to use for cache.
  106.  CACHE BLOCK SIZE
  107. : Size of cache management buffers in sectors. This 
  108. should always be a multiple of BUFFER SIZE for
  109. maximum performance.
  110.  SHARED DEVICES
  111. : Table of names of local CDROM device drivers ON
  112. THE SERVER to be shared onto the network.
  113.  Continue
  114. : Accepts new server settings and returns to main
  115. menu.

  118.  These parameters customize the setup for a CD-Share workstation. 
  119.  WORKSTATION NAME
  120. :Unique Netbios session name for this  
  121. workstation session.
  122.  WORKSTATION DEVICE NAME
  123. :The networked CDROM's will appear as  
  124. drives on a  CDROM  device driver by  
  125. this name. e.g. MSCD
  126. , MSCD001
  127.  MAXIMUM REDIRECTED DRIVES :This is the maximum number of network 
  128. CDROM drives that may  SIMULTANEOUSLY 
  129. be  connected  to the  workstation at 
  130. any one time. Note that CDManager may 
  131. used to alter drive connections to
  132. CD Servers, so one drive is usually
  133. sufficient. Also MSCDEX uses approx
  134. 4K of extra memory for each drive.
  135.  INSTALL MSCDEX
  136. :If YES then a line will be entered in 
  137. the startcd.bat file to run MSCDEX.
  138.  STARTING DRIVE LETTER
  139. :If INSTALL MSCDEX is YES this tells
  140. MSCDEX what it's starting drive letter
  141. is to be.

  143. :A list of initial rdirected drives.
